King Laius was killed and Oedipus is on a mission to figure out who did it. Oedipus tells the people if the killer comes forward they will be banished healthily. In search of the killer, they summon Teiresius, who can see into the past, to find out who did it. He refuses to tell who did it.

king Laius had been murdered, they are trying to figure out who had done it. since a king killer is on the loose Oedipus is afraid to be killed/overthrown. he sends a curse on anyone who is associated with murderer or who is the murderer. he calls in Teiresias to help him find the murderer but Teiresias refuses to help Oedipus because of something he had remembered. Oedipus ended up kicking him out.

Oedipus is really petty and vain. After the former king of Thebes is killed, he attempts to dig up clues as to who killed him, in the interest of potentially preserving his own life. His brother-in-law Creon recommends he talks to an old wise man named Tiresias. After meeting with Tiresias, he's told some things he doesn't want to hear. He then prosecutes Creon for "treason" believing he sent Oedipus to Tiresias to misguide Oedipus.
